Add a pinch of pepper and salt and roll up the dough on the narrow side
1 pinch pepper & salt
Tip: Wrap the roll into a sheet of baking paper (normally into the one the puff pastry comes with), and put it into the freezer for several minutes. This way the dough will become harder and it will get easier to cut in in slices.
Cut the puff pastry roll into 5-8mm thick slices and put the slices on a baking tray.
Bake the puff pastry snails for about 20 minutes at 180° until golden brown.
Notes
The great thing about puff pastry snails is that you can do them with all kinds of fillings. As an example, you can also do vegetarian versions with Pesto, tomato paste with oregano, or dried-tomato with mozzarella.
