These pretty looking Puff Pastry Snails make for a super easy and quick little snack to bring to the next party. They taste great, regardless of whether they are enjoyed warm or cold.
The perfect finger food
Pastry snails are probably one of the best snacks when it comes to finger food.
They are easy to grab, small enough to eat in one go, and almost everyone loves them.
You can prepare pastry snails in advance
Another great thing is that you can prepare your pastry roll hours or even days before.
As mentioned in the preparation section below, you can keep your pastry roll in the freezer. If doing so, take the roll out of the freezer about 15 minutes before you want to cut it in slices, so the roll isn’t too hard anymore.
Create Puff Pastry Snails with different fillings
You can create your own versions of puff pastry snails with different fillings.
As an example, you can also do vegetarian versions with Pesto, tomato paste with oregano, or dried tomato with mozzarella.

- Roll out the puff pastry and spread with cream cheese Lay out the ham evenly on top
- Add a pinch of pepper and salt and roll up the dough on the narrow side
- PRACTICAL TIP: Wrap the roll into a sheet of baking paper (normally into the one the puff pastry comes with), and put it into the freezer for several minutes. This way the dough will become harder and it will get easier to cut into slices.
